How can an AR move insurance clients when the licencee is blocking the move? My current licensee is incompetent, however will not sign the transfer forms for AIA and TAL. he just ignores my calls, emails and messages. He is now not paying my commissions! I guess all I can do is lawyer up and try and inforce the AR agreement.

    Hi Sally,

You appear to be engaged in a contractual dispute with your licensee.  These are generally governed by your AR agreement.  At this point, your observation of “lawyering up” is probably your most prudent option. Reach out to us if one of our lawyers can be of assistance with the application.

    Hi Mohit,

Whether you need an AFSL or can be authorised by another AFSL holder depends on what business you intend to operate

We often first recommend that you obtain legal advice in relation to (a) whether you need an AFSL, and (b) what type of licence you require.  Holley Nethercote Commercial & Financial Services Lawyers is a related law firm that specialises in financial services law.  (The partners of Holley Nethercote are also the principals of Compact.)

However if you have decided to apply for a licence, Compact Compliance & Training has a dedicated licensing team which can help you.  Over the years, Compact has helped various types of organisations successfully apply for or vary their AFSL.
